· Computer Graphics: Print Design (Photoshop, Illustrator, QuarkXPress)

This course surveys the three computer graphics programs that are
industry standards for most of today's print work. Students produce
individual projects in three areas: digital imaging (drawing, painting,
and photo manipulation) using Adobe Photoshop; creating vector-based
art and type in Adobe Illustrator (art titles, logos); and exploring
page layout using QuarkXPress.

· Intermediate Adobe Photoshop

In this course, students learn the intermediate-to-advanced features
of Photoshop. Topics include creating complex documents involving
layers, layer masks, clipping groups, paths, alpha channels, color
correction and manipulation, compositing, and special effects using
filters and photoretouching. Students also learn about third-party
filter effects available for Photoshop.

· Photoshop II

Beyond even image manipulation, Photoshop's strength lies in the
way it integrates with the entire production pipeline. Designed
for intermediate-level digital-imaging artists, this course allows
students to build their current skills to better control and utilize
the more sophisticated adjustment techniques necessary for constructing
professional images. Advanced features discussed include calibration
and color correction, input/output variables, and the zone system
and how it is used. Advanced masking, selections, compositing with
or without layers, special effects for the Web, and interactive
and print output also are discussed.
Prerequisite: Intermediate knowledge of Photoshop.

· Flash I: Animation

This hands-on course is a comprehensive exploration of Flash. Students
learn how to construct multiple-layered animations containing interactive
buttons, movie clips, and graphics. Proper set-up for optimum playback
over the Internet is examined as well as controlling embedded sounds.
Students use the new Publish feature to output to a variety of formats,
including .swf, Flash Player, and animated gifs.

· Flash II: Advanced Animation and Interaction

Flash starts with an array of built-in animation and design capabilities,
then adds integrated programming to become a powerful, open-ended
Web application development tool. This course introduces Flash's
advanced animation and scripting potential, focusing on techniques
to enhance Web page interactivity. Students learn to control Flash
movies/sites through the ActionScript programming language. To achieve
this, the course embarks on a thorough exploration of proper script
syntax, logic, controlling targeted objects, and timelines. Such
object oriented programming concepts as variables, conditional statements,
and loops are covered in detail.

· Web Design Workshop

Designed as an overview of the basic concepts of Web design, this
hands-on workshop takes students through various real-world processes
of constructing a simple Web site, from creating and optimizing
HTML files and images to setting up a host server and registering
a domain name. By the end of the workshop, students will have had
the experience of uploading their live site to the Internet. The
course also introduces a number of programs essential for Web design,
including Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, and Photoshop. Other topics
include the integration of imported materials and images from digital
cameras, navigation issues, plug-in concerns, and appropriate file
formats.

· HTML/Dreamweaver MX Comprehensive

This is our most comprehensive class in the art of website creation.
First, you'll learn the programming basics of HTML, the language
of the web. Next, you'll be introduced to Dreamweaver, the single
most powerful tool for creating web pages.

· Intro to HTML

To work on web pages in any capacity, there is one minimum prerequisite:
to know HTML. In this class, you'll learn how to type HTML code
from scratch-the way the pros have traditionally done it. You'll
understand how web pages work, then have the power to edit them
at any time.

· Macromedia Dreamweaver MX

The single most powerful tool for creating web pages is Macromedia
Dreamweaver. It allows you to create a page visually-like all good
graphics programs-but it also allows you to modify clean HTML code
the way a traditional coder would. With Dreamweaver you can easily
create dynamic animated pages (DHTML) and add complicated JavaScript
functions at the click of a mouse. Our Dreamweaver training will
give you hands-on practice using all the coolest functions. Our
Dreamweaver training course covers the latest, hottest web functionality,
including Mouseovers, Cascading Style Sheets, Layers, DHTML, and
much much more.

and see what they really can do, including advanced page layout
that combines style sheets and layers! You'll also learn to customize
Style Sheets based on browser and platform, how to install and use
extensions, use non Dreamweaver JavaScript snippets (no need to
learn JavaScript, but can easily add using Dreamweaver), Advanced
Dreamweaver Templates, Server-Side Includes and more!

· Macintosh Basic Operations

This hands-on course familiarizes the beginner with the basic operating
features of the Macintosh computer. Topics include the anatomy of
the Mac interface: icons, windows, and menus; elements of the keyboard:
command, option, combinations, and navigation keys; finder icons:
applications, documents, and support files; finder commands: menu
and keystrokes; finder operations: renaming, copying, deleting,
and moving; getting help; saving files; and removable storage devices.
Required course for students with no Macintosh experience who wish
to take Photoshop, Illustrator, or Quark/InDesign courses. Course
materials are available both in class and via Internet.

worked in QuarkXPress. QuarkXPress is covered comprehensively, including
basic layout, text and graphics manipulation, drawing tools ( bezier
curves), color creation, color application, style sheets, master
pages, multiple pages, baseline grid, hyphenation, libraries, anchored
boxes, indexing, book creation, and much more. Essential typography
rules are also covered.
