Celebrate Halloween with Teen's Computer School!
 What’s up with Teens Computer School these days?: spider web covers all the monitors, bats are hanging down from the ceiling and spiders are sitting in the corners? Of course it’s Halloween! Join the party to have fun and a good laugh! A holiday concert, Halloween-Pizza, plenty of different contests, surprises and much more! You can also win prizes if you give the right answer to our witch’s quiz (our witch is quite cute and not very evil). We invite everybody who wants to have a good time this Halloween to Teen’s Computer School locations in Toronto and Chicago.
School students, parents, artists, designers, dog/cat/hamster and parrot owners! Don’t waste your chance to become a winner of a fabulous Halloween contest held by Teens Computer School. We got dozens of prizes ready! But even if you don’t win you still qualify for our souvenirs and gifts for all participants.

1st Annual Halloween Ghost Story Contest 2008
First prize - $100*
Do you like reading? Are you keen on literature and even tried writing short stories yourself? Is web design also one of your interests? If you’re a Teens Computer School student and already know how to create web pages – this contest is for you. Submit your story in the form of a web page with your own illustrations – collages, “anchors” and CSS.
Second prize $50
The main prize in this category is 50 dollars + a calendar with our logo + branded mouse pad + t-shirt with our logo. Submit your spooky scary Halloween stories or horror movies inspired stories to contest@teenscomputer.com. The stories should be in DOC or RTF format, 2 pages maximum *

Web Design Contest

Do you know how to make websites? Then you can take part in our web design contest! Make a website about the history of Halloween using CSS styles and images from the Internet. Do not waste your chance to win the first price of $100!*

For Teens Computer School students and others who know how to work with graphic editors and design software.
Would you like to receive an invitation to a Halloween party in the form of a postcard your friend designed on the computer? Make your own invitation postcard and you can win a special prize of $50! The only mandatory condition is use of one or several graphic design programs. You can use photographs and clipart.

If you know how to create animation using graphic editors, create an animated "Welcome to Halloween Party 2009" banner sized 800 by 200 pic. Use either Flash or Gif animation. Pumpkin Contest:
First prize - $50 *
Decorate a pumpkin in any way you see fit, or unfit. It's that easy! Then take a picture and email it to us at contest@teenscomputer.com*.
If you live close to one of our offices, bring your decorated pumpkin! We will be gladly accepting them each Saturday from 11 a.m. till 7 p.m., October 5 through October 20 in Toronto (North York), and from 1 a.m. till 5 p.m. in Chicago (Wheeling).

*You don’t have to know how to create animation or use sophisticated graphic editors to be able to carve and decorate pumpkins, but after taking one of the courses offered at Teens Computer School you could step up your pumpkin carving to the highest professional level. :-)

Halloween make up contest:
First prize - $50 *
Halloween make-up is often just as important to your costume as the outfit. For instance, in order to fully transform into a zombie, you need the appearance of gruesome flesh decay on your face, neck, and any other exposed skin to make your outfit believable. Thus, if you are not wearing a mask, this can only be achieved with make-up.
The costume you decided on, and how authentic you want to look, will determine the type of Halloween make-up you will require. For kids trick-or-treating, basic make-up kits with a few standard paint colors should suffice. However, for an impressive party outfit, you may want to expand your horizons and be a little more daring by perhaps coloring your hair, adding warts or scar tissue to your face, or even body paint. Make-up allows you to be as creative as you want – embrace your imagination and ideas!

Halloween Costumes Contests for Dogs
First prize - $50 *
Halloween can be a stressful time for pets. Although Halloween night is a time to keep your dogs at home, safe and sound, that doesn't mean they must be completely left out of Halloween fun. If you have a friendly, sociable dog who likes children, gets along well with other dogs, and is comfortable wearing a costume – take a picture and send it to contest@teenscomputer.com
Here's are few pet costume tips..
- When wearing a costume, can the dog see and breathe easily? A costume should not interfere with the dogs vision, hearing or breathing - NO masks.
- Check the fit around the costume neckline to make sure it's not too tight.
- Watch for chewing, pawing, or signs of discomfort while wearing a costume.
- If you're making a pet costume, use a lightweight fabric that won't cause a dog to become over-heated.
- Don't put any beads, loose dangling accessories and other small objects on a costume.... nothing that can be chewed and swallowed or be a choking hazard.
- A costume should not drag on the floor so that your dog can't walk without stepping on it.
- Never leave a dog wearing any kind of costume alone and unatteneded.
- If your dog gets nervous and upset, and just doesn't like the idea of being dressed, forget the costume idea. A simple doggy size cotton t-shirt would be more comfortable. Or... just get a colorful Halloween print collar or bandana instead.
