Специализированный курс разговорного английского для дизайнеров и
IT профессионалов
- Эта уникальная программа разработана специалистами New Image College и не имеет аналогов среди других учебных программ в масштабе всей Северной Америки!Курс разработан специально для профессиональных художников, художников-графиков, графиков-дизайнеров, веб-дизайнеров и других профессионалов-дизайнеров и IT персонала не владеющих английским языком.
Цель курса - научить профессиональных дизайнеров свободно общаться с англоязычными заказчиками и работать с дизайнерскими программами на английском языке. Эта цель достигается способом "погружения" в профессиональную англоязычную среду. С помощью дискуссий на темы искусства и дизайна, изучения и использования специальной дизайнерской терминологии, посещения картинных галерей, выставочных залов, практики в канадских дизайнерских компаниях студенты быстро овладевают профессиональной терминологией и учатся общаться на английском языке.
Большое внимание на этом курсе уделяется изучению специальных графических программ, которые используются в индустрии дизайна и выполнению дизайнерских проектов с помощью этих программ.
По окончанию курса студенты смогут работать над проектами для англоязычных компаний и индивидуальных заказчиков и свободно общаться на английском языке на профессиональные темы.
Язык курса - английский. Преподаватели - профессиональные дизайнеры, работающие в канадских компаниях и имеющие большой опыт по преподаванию этих программ.
Курс состоит из нескольких модулей:
1. English for IT.
Focal point is development of the IT-related vocabulary as well as building of comfortable and positive attitude towards using English as a tool in the IT working environment. All students will prepare and deliver in-class presentations in English on IT topics which will be chosen within the first several weeks of the course. Texts and articles will provide fundamentals for learning vocabulary, as well as material for class discussions. Written exam administered at the end of this module will present basis for 70% of final grades; the presentation counts for 20% and one additional assignment will be worth 10%.
2. Presentation Skills for Designers
This is a two-part English component of the Presentation Skills course. An overview of the English presentation language will be offered, as well as opportunity to make group presentation in English. The English sessions will focus on free communication in group discussions and will provide participants with activities to acquire skills in thinking and making presentations in English language.
3. CVs and Cover Letters.
This module familiarizes students with basic job-hunting skills in English. Covers such subjects as resumes and cover letters preparation in accordance with modern standards, typical for the English-speaking countries. The module also includes interview simulations for different IT and Design positions.
4. Teaching + Making Presentations in English
This course is organized in cooperation with the New Image Teens Computer School and focuses on developing and improving skills necessary to deliver courses in different Design and IT areas and to make presentations in English. Students will have an opportunity to prepare and deliver course on selected subjects for the high school students – attendees of the Teens Computer School. The Teens Computer School is faculty for high school students, operating as part of the New Image College.
Format: Input and background information provided by the course instructor; group discussions and presentations by all participants - in a friendly, comfortable and relaxed English-speaking environment.
